A woman has described her "nightmare" ordeal after her deaf dog went missing.
Connie Richardson, from Stoke Ferry near King's Lynn, last saw her dog Maddie on Thursday, November 17, when she "disappeared" while Ms Richardson's sister was visiting her home.
She believes her elderly dog has been stolen and says she has had to field many scam calls claiming they have Maddie and asking for money.
Ms Richardson said she was chatting with her sister and when she turned around the Staffordshire Bull Terrier had gone.
The pair then noticed their gate was open and after asking around the village noticed that a neighbour's had also been opened.
"We always have the gate shut to prevent her getting out and it's a pretty sturdy gate so even though it was bad weather it wouldn't have come open on its own," Ms Richardson said.
"It's been a nightmare, people keep calling up saying I've got your dog give me your money, it's heart-breaking as it is.
"And she doesn't like walks, the cold, or the dark, so it's a nightmare for her too."
Ms Richardson said Maddie was wearing a pink collar has a wart on one of her front legs and her paws and chest are white.
She added that the dog had not been tagged as Ms Richardson has only just moved to Norfolk and was in the process of getting her address changed.
Anyone who sees Maddie or has information about her whereabouts should call or text Ms Richardson on 07933069170.
