An infrared photograph of Jarrold Bridge in Norwich has been voted the best photo of an exhibition for the Festival of Architecture in Norwich and Norfolk (FANN13).
The exhibition was being held at The Forum in Norwich earlier this month as part of the biennial festival's events around the city.
It included a photography competition being run in conjunction with the EDP's Norfolk is… campaign. Almost 100 photos were entered into the competition and a selection of the 12 final photos were then added to the exhibition, where a public vote was held.
James Pestell, a 40-year-old composite technician from Hethersett, won the first prize with his photograph of the Jarrold Bridge and claimed the prize of one night's dinner and bed and breakfast for two at the Maids Head Hotel in Norwich,
He said: 'I was just doing one of my wanders around Norwich. My camera goes with me everywhere.
'I'd seen Jarrold Bridge photographed before and I thought I would like to do my own take on it with my infrared camera.'
He said he was 'surprised and very proud' to win the competition.
Rachel Smith, a 43-year-old office manager from Norwich, came second with her photograph of the old and new architecture in the area around the city's recently revamped Marks and Spencer store, in Rampant Horse Street.
She said: 'I just do photography as a hobby. I was at the Forum taking pictures of the GoGoGorillas and on the way out I thought this would make a nice photo.
'I like the contrast of the old and new. I am really excited and a bit surprised to come second in the competition.'
Jolie Murrell, a 16-year-old student from Marsham, came third with her photograph of part of the UEA.
The City College Norwich student said: 'I was really shocked to win third prize. I didn't expect it at all.
'I do a photography course at City College Norwich and I took the picture when I was with my college class.
'We went to the Masterpieces exhibition and were told to take pictures of the UEA.'
Both second and third place won £50 worth of iTunes vouchers for their efforts.
