Katie Edwards, 19, was offered the exciting opportunity to star in Norwich-based media company Rockstar's short film Signal. Brogan Quinn spoke to Katie to find out more about her time preparing for the role, as well as what to expect from the upcoming film.

What is the film about?

Signal is a sci-fi short film which has been made in co-operation with the company Shotgun. The film will be used to showcase the work which Shotgun do and show other film makers how the company works.

What was your role and how did you get it?

The title of my role was 'model' rather than 'actress', even though it is a short film. I attend a media college, and our college relationship manager Ian Johnson got me some work experience at Rockstar which is based in Norwich.

Eugene Riecansky, the boss and owner called me and offered me the job, I accepted, and the next week I was in a car on a seven-hour trip to Devon.

Did you have to do anything/train to prepare?

Three days before we left to travel to Devon, I spent two out of the three days having hair appointments and clothing fittings. Clothing fittings included trying on All Saints coats which I then put aside for our Devon week manager to pick up later that day.

On the first day of being in Devon I then proceeded to try on four other tops, leather jackets and hoodies, along with jeans and boots. My jewellery had to be adjusted accordingly but training wasn't needed as I was given instruction on location.

When will it be released and where will people be able to watch it?

Currently the editors have not been given a deadline meaning the release date is unfortunately uncertain. However, once released Rockstar will be linking it on their social medias and website where you will be able to watch it.
