Police patrols have been stepped up following reports of an increase of anti-social behaviour in Diss.

Diss residents have been urged by police to stay vigilant following two incidents of criminal damage to properties in the area.

The first incident happened on Friday, March 13 between 10.05pm and 10.15pm when a window was smashed at an address on Denmark Street.

This came ahead of a further incident on Denmark Street on Saturday, March 14 between 11pm and 11.10pm when two windows were smashed at a property.

Police are not linking the two incidents.

PC Andrew Birdsey said: 'We have received an increase in the number of reports of anti-social behaviour in this part of Diss in the last couple of weeks, particularly on Friday and Saturday nights, and we have increased our patrols in the area.

'We would ask householders in the area to report any further incidents of this type that they witness to us and to pass on any information they may have about any of the incidents that have already occurred.'

Anyone who thinks they may have witnessed any anti-social behaviour in the area should contact PC Birdsey at Diss Police Station on 101 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
