A man from Dereham helped rescue drivers who had become stranded on the A47 by directing traffic to make way for a snow plough which cleared a vital hospital slip road.
Lee Webster, who works for Frappell and Knight in Dereham, was on his way back from a job in Norwich when he became caught in traffic on the A47, near Longwater.
'I was stuck at the flyover and traffic was at a standstill,' he said.
'I noticed that there was a snow plough behind me and it couldn't get through so I jumped out of my car, spoke to the driver and we put together a plan.'
That plan saw Mr Webster single-handedly direct A47 traffic in order to make way for the snow plough. Cars and vans were directed off the road, while articulated lorries were diverted to the fast lane.
'I was there until about 12pm,' he added. 'It was a bit chilly out there but you've got to get people moving.'
