Members from a local cancer support charity are 'delighted' after helping disadvantaged young people worldwide set up and run their own micro businesses.
Following an appeal from Dereham Cancer Care for items no longer used by its centre visitors, donations were given to the charity Tools with a Mission (TWAM).
The donations enable young people to earn money to support themselves, feed young families, and even help support schooling.
Once collected, the items are taken to TWAM's Ipswich-based depot to be serviced before being made up into trade kits for distribution around the world. Many of the kits are sent to Africa, where young people live in locations with little or no chance of employment.
Some of the items donated included several knitting and sewing machines with boxes of machine wool, material and haberdashery items.
The charity hopes to give another donation spring 2019.
