Residents are calling for swift action to be taken to fix a persistent flooding problem which they say is damaging property and posing serious dangers for motorists and pedestrians.
For the past eight months large puddles which 'look more like lakes' have been a constant source of frustration for those living on Yarmouth Road in Lowestoft.
The flooding is predominantly impacting those living in properties opposite Belle Vue Park.
Tim Mason, 51, who has lived in the road since 2016, branded the problem as 'ridiculous'.
While Highways England has been informed of the issue on multiples occasions, the cause of the problem remains unknown and the flooding persists.
Mr Mason: 'It's a situation where everyone seems to be passing the buck and it doesn't seem to be going anywhere.
'Properties are being damaged due to the barrage of water.
'My property in particular has suffered damage to boundary walls, plantation and my recently laid drive is being badly eroded.'
The company director estimates the combined damage to properties along the road would be 'a five-figure sum.'
However, Mr Mason believes the flooding also poses serious dangers for pedestrians and commuters alike.
He said: 'Someone is going to drive through and not realise how deep it is.
'They could aquaplane and go onto the other side of the road, into another vehicle or hurt a pedestrian.'
Mr Mason also outlined countless instances in which pedestrians were 'soaked with dirty water' by passing cars driving through the puddle.
He added: 'Our next door neighbours are quite elderly and their letter box is on the gate next to the road.
'They have received a couple of soakings getting their mail.'
A spokesman for Highways England said it was aware of flooding and currently investigating the problem through its service provider Kier.
He said: 'Our investigations were hampered by the recent severe weather which also exasperated the problem.
'Kier will continue to closely monitor the situation until the cause can be identified and the necessary repairs planned.
'We will aim to complete the repairs as soon as possible but this will obviously depend on the nature and complexity of the repairs.'
