Daring firefighters faced their cutest challenge yet when they were called out to Southwold in the early hours of this morning.

One crew were sent to North Road in the town to an animal rescue after a puppy was spotted stuck under a shed.

After half an hour of careful work, the puppy was successfully released from underneath the structure.

The spokesman for the fire and rescue service said the fire service were called at 8.05am, arriving on scene three minutes later, before leaving after the successful canine extraction at 8.41.
