Firefighters successfully quashed a gorse fire near Gunton Warren after two hectares of the plant caught fire.
The fire, which Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service were called to at around 6.25pm yesterday, took more than an hour to get fully under control with the incident closing at 8.05pm.
Corton Road was also closed in one direction while the fire service dealt with the fire, but was reopened shortly after the flames were put out.
A spokesman for the fire service said crews from Lowestoft South attended the fire and used beaters and hoses to control it before a damping down process.
