Spooky Halloween fun takes over town centre

Spooky Saturday, organised by Lowestoft Vision, saw a fancy dress competition inspire children and adults alike to don bizarre and scary outfits while a pumpkin trial saw shops get in the ghoulish mood.

The winners were a family inspired by Cruella de Vil from 101 Dalmatians.

Crowds also gathered to watch performances from youngsters from Cantors Theatre School who performed a musical version of the horror film Halloween.

The Wheezers also performed dances and people enjoyed visits to a witches lair at Dunx Cycles. The event concluded with a ghost walk led by historian Ivan Bunn.

Amie Mullen, from Lowestoft Vision, said: 'I would say it was a great day of family fun. Children and adults all dressed up and it was great to see so many visitors to our shops.'
