A new Superintendent is set to arrive in King's Lynn and West Norfolk to command policing across the district.

From tomorrow, Supt Dave Marshall will be the local police chief for the borough and will lead the nine local Safer Neighbourhood Teams.

He aims to build on the successful work already carried out in the district and wants to further improve the quality of life for West Norfolk residents.

Supt Marshall transferred from West Yorkshire Police to Norfolk in 2008, where he was appointed as the Supt responsible for policing in the North Norfolk and Broadland districts.

In October 2010 he was seconded to the police headquarters, at Wymondham, to lead a force-wide review of frontline in the county policing.

Supt Marshall said: 'I am looking forward to my new role, and the opportunity to work across both rural and urban areas within the district. My predecessor Supt Nick Davison has done a great job in creating strong relationships with partners.

'I am keen to build on these successes and keep crime that causes the greatest anxiety to the public at the lowest possible levels.'

The new appointment means that Supt Marshall will replace Supt Davison, who has been the head of policing in Lynn and West Norfolk for the past 2-and-a-half years.

Supt Davison will be the lead police officer for Great Yarmouth from April.
