The Hoosiers become 'Kings of Lynn' and say the gig was the best festival 'in an age'

King's Lynn was rocking last night when a top line-up appeared in the town for the finale of this year's Festival Too.

A packed Tuesday Market Place welcomed The Hoosiers and The Feeling to top the bill and end the free concerts in style.

The Hoosiers said it was the best festival gig they had played in an age and told their Twitter followers: 'OK Festival Too, I admit it, you were the best fest we've played in an age. So good we're re-naming ourselves the Kings of Lynn.'

They also thanked fans 'Our pleasure guys - you were brilliant.'

The evening was packed with music as Battle of the Bands winner Jesse's Ghost, Parade and Wonderland all performed before the headline acts took to the stage.

Music fans had braved the weather on Friday evening to see Sophie Ellis-Bextor and Sinead and the Dawnbreakers - fortunately the rain stopped in time for the headline act and thousands enjoyed the show.

Festival Too kicked-off on June 25 with an Elton John tribute band and firework display on the riverside. Acts over the next two weekends also included The Lightning Seeds, Lady GaGa Tribute, Howard Jones and The Yesterdays.

All the concerts were free and it was the 26th year the Tuesday Market Place has hosted the event.

The organisers rely on more than 250 individual and corporate sponsorship and West Norfolk Council for funds to keep the popular event going.

Apart from the music, Festival Too also provides daytime entertainment in the town centre for younger visitors.

The organisers are already planning next year's event and would welcome new sponsors. For further details see the weblink above right.
