Man kept in hospital after incident - police want to trace vehicle involved
Police are appealing for information after a charity walker was in a near-miss with a car in Gayton, near King's Lynn.
The man was walking along the B1145 towards Lynn on Sunday, July 17 at around 10.30pm when an oncoming vehicle narrowly missed him and forced him into the verge.
The vehicle drove off and failed to stop. The man, who was raising money for youth sports in Norfolk, was taken to Lynn's Queen Elizabeth Hospital and kept in overnight.
He had minor injuries to the left side of his body after the incident, about three miles from the hospital.
The only description police have of the vehicle is that it had small LED-type lights above the headlights and was possibly an Audi.
Anyone who has knowledge of the incident, witnessed it or who saw the manner of driving of the vehicle involved should contact PC Jo Higgins at Thetford Police Station on 0845 4564567.
