Staff and customers at the Wilkinsons store in Dereham High Street had to be evacuated today.
Two fire crews were called to the shop at about 2.20pm after the alarms were set off and it turned out to be a false alarm caused by a system fault.
Staff had to wait at the back of the store until the all clear was given and market day customers had to assemble on the path in the High Street until the shop was re-opened about 15 minutes later.
