A wide variety of attractions is being lined up for the 2011 Swaffham Visual Arts Festival.
From the screening of an award-winning film to graffiti art to contemporary architecture, organisers hope the month-long programme will appeal to local people and those across the county.
The festival is organised by the Rotary Club of Swaffham and sponsored by family-owned house builder Abel Homes.
The Rotary Club ran an exhibition showcasing local art for 16 years and put on the inaugural visual arts festival last year,
It proved a great success, attracting hundreds of people and raising over �5,000 for local good causes.
This year's programme starts with a launch event on Friday, October 7 at the Ecotech Centre, 7pm, and is followed by the screening of the Cannes Festival prize-winning film Certified Copy. Tickets are �6.
Other events are Contemporary Architecture in Breckland, Wednesday, October 12, Swaffham Community Centre, Campingland, 7pm; illustrated art lecture by Marianne North called 'The Making of a Flower Painter,' Wednesday October 19, The George Hotel, 7pm; artist demonstration evening by Brian Ryder, Monday October 24, The George Hotel, 7pm for 7.30pm; art exhibition preview evening, Friday October 28, Assembly Rooms, Market Place, 7.30pm; art exhibition and sale of works of art, Saturday October 29 and Sunday October 30, Assembly Rooms, Market Place, 10am-4pm; graffiti art demonstration by Mik Richardson, with hands-on activities, Sunday October 30, Assembly Rooms, Market Place, 12.30pm.
