A road in Attleborough has been closed following a vehicle collision that caused damage to a bridge.
Norfolk County Council said that Hargham Road, Attleborough, was shut to all vehicles today following damage to a bridge parapet caused by a crash.
A spokesman for the council said engineers inspected the parapet and found the damage to be so serious that the bridge is unsafe to use.
Work will start tomorrow [Thursday] and the road is set to remain closed for about a week.
A signed diversion is in place via New Road, London Road and Blacksmith Lane is in place. Pedestrian access is not affected.
