Vouchers collected at Sainsbury's stores across Norfolk for the Active Kids scheme this year have brought the county-wide total since 2005 to �1,788,172.

Schools, clubs and nurseries in the county will feel the benefit of the Active Kids equipment after Sainsbury's customers collected vouchers between Wednesday, February 9 and Tuesday, May 31 this year.

The top collectors at Thorpe St Andrew Sainsbury's store on Pound Lane was Hillside Avenue Primary and Nursery School, totalling an order value of �56,984 from their vouchers. Pound Lane store manager, Andy Stewardson said: 'Our customers have really helped make a difference to schools, clubs and nurseries across Norfolk through donating Active Kids vouchers this year.

'We'd like to thank them for their support in our campaign, and we hope organisations throughout Norfolk are happy with this year's array of Active Kids equipment, which we hope will make a positive contribution to their learning and well-being.'

Since Active Kids began in 2005, more than �115m worth of equipment and experiences have been donated across the United Kingdom.
