A small inflatable dinghy with three people on board was helped back to shore by the Sheringham lifeboat and local fishing boat Tomkit at lunchtime on Monday.
Coastguards raised the alarm at 12.14pm with the inflatable drifting east with the flood tide about 800m offshore.
When the lifeboat got the casualty the fishing boat already had the inflatable in tow, so the lifeboat crew escorted them both back to the beach.
