Actor Brendan Coyle - better known as Mr Bates in hit costume drama Downton Abbey - wants to renovate and extend his Norfolk home.
The award-winning actor, also known for playing Robert Timmins in three BBC series based on the Lark Rise to Candleford novels, has applied to West Norfolk Council to add a new kitchen and improve the exterior of his Heacham home.
The borough council received the application on Monday, March 26 and there are currently no objections to the plan to transform the Old Greyhound pub.
Mr Coyle is the great nephew of Manchester United legend Sir Matt Busby and also the performing arts patron of King's Lynn Arts Centre.
