A swamp cypress tree is being planted in Thorpe St Andrew to commemorate the Queen's Diamond Jubilee on Saturday morning.
Town mayor, John Ward, and deputy town mayor, Ian Mackie, will be planting the tree on River Green, Yarmouth Road, at 11am.
The tree is a native of the Florida Everglades and is regarded as the best conifer for wet soils and should therefore be well suited to the riverside location.
All are welcome to join the ceremony. For further information, contact town clerk, Steven Ford, on 01603 701048.
