There was drama at Colney when both Norwich City and Tottenham Hotspur had a player stretchered off and taken to hospital during Saturday's FA Premier Academy League game – which meant the first half was extended by 13 minutes.

The unfortunate duo were City defender Taylor McKenzie and Spurs' Giancarlo Furlolo, the pair clashing heads after just 10 minutes.

At that point, the Canaries were a goal up as they had been since the opening minute of the game. However, by the break Spurs were 3-1 up.

The game was just 27 seconds old when Jason Dobbs curled a shot past Spurs keeper Harry Voss as City made a great start.

They might have added a second shortly after when Josh Murphy went round Voss but he was unable to keep the ball in play.

There then followed a lengthy hold-up as McKenzie and Furlolo were treated on the pitch.

When the match restarted, Jack Munns was denied by David Wootton in the City goal, but with 32 minutes gone, Spurs pulled level with a Munns free-kick that beat Wootton low down to his right.

Just 60 seconds later, Spurs took the lead when a shot from Kenneth McEvoy took a slight defection before going in off the post.

City looked to hit back when Harry Barker took a quick free-kick that crashed off the post with Voss well beaten.

Ten minutes into first-half stoppage time, Spurs went 3-1 ahead when Jack Bartham unleashed an unstoppable 30-yard effort.

Jacob Murphy saw a shot well saved shortly after the break, but with 50 minutes gone, brother Josh pulled a goal back.

Just three minutes later, City failed to deal with a corner and when the ball was crossed for a second time, Kevin Stewart finished from close range.

For the second time in the half, City reduced the arrears to just one goal when on 73 minutes Jamar Loza slip the ball past Voss.

With just 10 minutes left, Spurs completed the scoring when Souleymane Coulibaly fired a rising shot past Wootton.
