Swaffham town council is attempting to contact the relatives of people buried in the town cemetery after a fallen tree damaged a number of headstones.
The tree, which was not on publicly-owned land, fell during high winds in the early hours of Sunday April 29.
Town clerk Richard Bishop said: 'We are in the process of getting in touch with families, but they are older gravestones so it's going to be a bit of a drawn-out process.'
He blamed the tree's toppling on the dry spell in March followed by three or four weeks of wet weather, combined with strong winds over the weekend.
