A new councillor joined the ranks of Wymondham Town Council last night after winning a by-election for a vacant seat with a clear majority.
Andy Gardiner won the Rustens ward seat polling 73pc of the vote to challenger Len Elston's 27pc.
Mr Gardiner is the former chairman of the Wymondham Asks Why campaign group, which is fighting to preserve the town's King Head Meadow from development.
