A semi-retired district nurse from Dereham has successfully finished a long-distance bike ride spanning the length of the country to raise funds for the East Anglian Air Ambulance.
Hazel Cleave, 60, had said she hoped to complete the journey from John O'Groats to Land's End in three weeks before she set off from the Scottish coast on Sunday June 10 with her Cornish niece Nicola Chapman, 47.
They arrived at their destination on Saturday June 30, and were accompanied by Mrs Cleave's grandson Joe Cleave for the final two miles to mainland England's most westerly point.
The EDP and the East Anglian Daily Times have launched a joint fundraising appeal for 50,000 of equipment for the Air Ambulance. For support holding a fundraising event contact the charity on 0845 066 9999 or visit www.eaaa.org.uk
To sponsor Mrs Cleave send cheques to East Anglian Air Ambulance to EDP, Bond House, High Street, Dereham, NR19 1DZ.
