It was a case of 'All creatures great and small' at a north Suffolk church yesterday afternoon as it held its third pet service.

The outside service by Pakefield Church, Pakefield, near Lowestoft, saw pets of all descriptions attend the religious event.

As well as common pets such as dogs, cats, rabbits and guinea pigs, the service saw owners bring a tortoise, ferrets, and even a snail.

There was also a pony and a skunk and cockatiel from Pets Corner in Oulton Broad also turned up.

And as well as the dozens of animals, about 50 people attended today's service.

The service was held by Canon Bob Baker who said at the beginning of the service; 'We have got a lovely pony at the back and at least 17 dogs, that's lovely.

Mr Baker blessed the pets with the words: 'May Almighty God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit bless these animals, protect them from harm and cruelty, that with all creation they may praise and exalt Him forever.'
