Police in Lowestoft investigating after a 21-year-old woman reported being sexually assaulted in the early hours of Saturday are asking anyone who was in the Homefield Avenue area between 2.40am and 3am to come forward.
Following further interviews the woman has now told police the assault happened in a garden off Homefield Avenue, not as she had originally reported in a field off Britten Road in Lowestoft.
CCTV enquiries have revealed the woman left Hush nightclub, on Lowestoft seafront, around 2.40am in the company of a male – described as white, with short dark hair and wearing a hooded top and who was smoking a cigarette.
The man initially approached a doorman at Hush to speak to him and then spoke to the 21-year-old who was sitting on the steps of the club.
The man and woman then walked around the corner, and stood along the wall of the Hotel Hatfield, and appear to share a cigarette and talk before walking away along Wellington Esplanade.
Police need to trace this man and are asking him, or anyone who may have seen the two together, to come forward.
Anyone who can help is asked to call Lowestoft CID on 101
