A woman in her 40s was allegedly verbally abused and hit in the face by another woman in the Tesco store in Dereham.
Police are investigating the incident, which happened at about 4pm on Sunday.
A spokesman said: 'The victim, aged in her 40s, was approached in the shop by an unknown female who verbally abused her before allegedly striking her on the face. An altercation between the two then took place.'
