A driver had to be rescued from a river in Thetford after the Ford Focus he was travelling in came off the road.
Police and firefighters from East Harling and Thetford were called to rescue the driver from the car, which plunged into the river at Mill Lane shortly after 1pm on Sunday.
Sgt Simon Atherton, of Norfolk police, said the male driver was taken to West Suffolk Hospital at Bury St Edmunds with minor injuries, but the water was only waist high and therefore the car was not fully submerged.
He added: 'We are still investigating the circumstances of how the car has come to be in the river.
'The driver was cold and somewhat shocked.'
He said the car was irreparable following the accident and recovery teams arrived at the scene by 3pm, taking 30 minutes to pull the car out of the water.
