Travellers camped at Beaconsfield recreation ground have now left after they were served with a court summons.
The group had previously ignored a legal notice to leave by 6pm yesterday.
A spokesman for Great Yarmouth Borough Council said: 'The travellers who moved onto Beaconsfield Recreation Ground, off Sandown Road, on Sunday evening have now left the site after the borough council issued them with a court summons.
'The borough council, which owns the land, served them on Monday with a letter asking them to leave. Following a multi-agency meeting, they were served the same day with a legal notice, ordering them to vacate the site by 6pm yesterday.
'As they remained there this morning, the borough council secured a summons from Great Yarmouth Magistrates' Court, ordering the travellers to attend a further court hearing, scheduled for 2.30pm today, when the borough council intended to seek legal permission to remove the travellers and their belongings.
'Norfolk County Council and Norfolk Constabulary supported this action to remove the travellers as soon as possible from an important public amenity.
'When the travellers were served with the order, at about 10am, they indicated they would not attend the court to contest the order sought.
'The last of their eight vehicles left at 12.45pm and the site was re-secured with a new lock.
'GYB Services, the borough council's operational partner, will visit to clean up any waste left behind.
'The court hearing has been cancelled.'
It follows a separate camp of nine caravans which left Cobholm on Sunday.
The new group of travellers moved onto the Beaconsfield, off Sandown Road, Great Yarmouth, at about 5pm on Sunday.
