A Norwich shopping centre is inviting shoppers to join in a work of art inspired by the Eastern Daily Press's Norfolk is... campaign, as part of a weekend of fun to celebrate its new look.

Intu Chapelfield's Summer Party this weekend will also feature live music and dance, family fun, food and drink and performances from talented youngsters.

Artist Mik Richardson will invite shoppers to contribute to a huge piece of collaborative canvas art, adding to his outline inspired by entries to the Norfolk is... campaign, which asks readers to explain what they love about our county.

The final artwork will be displayed within the shopping centre.

There will also be performances from band Agent Orange and vocal group Acafellas, with amateur acts who auditioned to perform including Wroxham's 13-year-old YouTube star Liberty Popey.

Groups from the Heather Milan School of Dance and Performing Arts and Knightshift Dance Company will also be performing, and there will be beat-boxing workshops with Lee Gibling, balloon modelling, hula hoop workshops, stilt walkers and living statues among other attractions.

Marketing manager Sheridan Smith said: 'There have been a lot of changes happening here at intu Chapelfield, from the new name to new uniforms and a whole new approach to the shopper experience.

'This event will be a celebration of the changes and a preview of what's still to come in the future – and we look forward to showing our shoppers what else we've got planned.'

The intu Chapelfield Summer Party runs from 11am to 5pm tomorrow and Sunday. Entry is free.
