Police are reminding residents to be vigilant following thefts from two oil tanks in Flixton.
Seven hundred and fifty litres of oil was taken from the first tank in The Street, between December 5 and Wednesday.
A further 600 litres of Kerosene heating oil was taken from a second tank in The Street, between 5pm on Monday and 8am on Tuesday.
Officers are reminding people of measures that can be taken to help keep their oil safe, including closing and securing any gates leading to the tank, concealing or covering any external pipes and fuel lines, installing dusk to dawn security lighting or CCTV, installing lockable caps supported by a closed shackle padlock, installing a tank alarm or joining a Neighbourhood Watch scheme.
Anyone who saw anything suspicious in the area or anyone with information relating to the crimes should call PC Samantha Plummer at Halesworth Police Station on 101 quoting reference BE/14/287, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
