Nervous fans need all the help they can get going into tomorrow's crucial home game against title favourites Liverpool.

The Canaries are just one place off the dreaded relegation places and Liverpool at home is the first of four tough games that will determine their season.

And for superstitious football fans in search of a sign, the Norfolk landscape is offering encouragement with a grass-roots show of support in glorious green and yellow.

The brilliant displays of Canary colours in these fields of oilseed rape have been spotted in Blickling, Oulton, Bawburgh, Broome and Harleston.

Experts are predicting the production of oilseed rape could be up this year, thanks to the good weather we have recently been experiencing and the mild winter.

Brian Finnerty, regional press officer for the National Farmers' Union, said: 'It's early days yet and there's nothing in the barns, but the crop is looking pretty good.'

The Norwich Evening News and Eastern Daily Press have called on City fans to create a cauldron of noise at Carrow Road tomorrow and cheer the team on to success.
