It was a hark back to times gone by as councillors put themselves in the stocks in a bid to help raise money for charity.
Councillors and staff at North Norfolk District Council held a dress down day and cake sale on Friday as well as nominating people to go in the stocks.
Some of those who were made to go in the stocks and have wet sponges thrown at them for £1 a time, included chairman of the council Trevor Ivory, leader of the council Tom FitzPatrick, chief executive officer, Sheila Oxtoby, and councillor Graham Jones.
Mr Ivory said: 'We have done this to help raise as much as possible for the two charities which I have chosen as chairman of the council The Benjamin Foundation and The Royal British Legion.'
