A straw stack fire at Yaxham, near Dereham, which took firefighters nearly 11 hours to tackle, could have been started deliberately.
Crews from Hingham, Dereham and the water carrier from Hethersett were called to contain a blaze in a stack on Green Lane, near to Yaxham Mill, containing 600 to 800 tonnes of straw, worth around £15,000.
The fire caught two stacks, which were described as 'well alight' but a third stack was prevented from catching.
Firefighters were called to the blaze at about 9.10pm and were finally able to put out the blaze at around 7.50am this morning.
Some firefighters remained on the scene to monitor it and ensure that the fire did not reignite.
Norfolk Police said they believed the fire to be arson and appealed for anyone with information to call them on 101.
