It is the season of goodwill - and a Norwich boxer proved that yesterday, as he opened his family diner to give those in need a warm dinner and some company.

Sam Sexton and brother Ben opened their KO's Sports Diner, on Hall Road, to offer a free Christmas Dinner to those who didn't have anywhere to spend the day.

Diners were treated to a choice of turkey, beef and gammon - with all the trimmings - and a glass of bucks fizz, as they had a chat and enjoyed the merriment.

Tables were laid with crackers and every guest was given a present to take away.

The brothers, who had hoped to open their doors to the public last year, said that it was important to help those in need.

Mr Sexton, the former holder of the British Commonwealth heavy-weight belt, said that they had a good turn out for the dinner.

He added that it is too easy to take the things we have for granted.

'There are so many people living on the streets and a lot of elderly on their own.

'We take what we have for granted - i have a big family and we always spend it together and we take that for granted.

'We stuff our bellies and sit there in our warm houses and then complain there's nothing to do on Christmas night, but there are so many people who have got no where to go and we wanted to help them,' he said.

Do you know of someone who went out of their way to help people at Christmas?
