Judges will today decide if a north Norfolk food producer will reach the finals of a national competition.

Sarah Pettegree, joint owner of Brays Cottage Pork Pies which has reached the final 18 in the BBC's Food and Farming Awards, said she was delighted that Norfolk was being represented.

Made in flint barns on the Bayfield Estate, Ms Pettegree said her produce was 'more than a traditional pork pie', and used prime meat from local pigs.

'I had no idea we had been nominated,' she said.

The 15 judges will taste a selection of the pies today, which had been sent to the BBC in Portland Place, London.

When the final three have been chosen, judges will visit each of the producers.

The 2015 awards ceremony will be held in Bristol.

Ms Pettegree said: 'Even if we don't get any further it is a tremendous accolade to have got this far.'

The business started in 2007, and is owned by Ms Pettegree and her partner Derek Chapman.
