From SpongeBob Squarepants to a shipwrecked pirate, scarecrows of all styles and sizes have sprung up around a Norfolk village.

Dozens of handcrafted 'crows have gone on show in Martham, near Great Yarmouth, for the Scarecrow Festival, now in its eighth year.
The unique creations soaked up some heavy rain yesterday morning, but still attracted families from far and wide. Characters that appeared over the weekend, alongside yarn-bombing outside Co-op and on rooftops, ranged from SpongeBob and Toothless the dragon from the animated film How to Train Your Dragon to traditional straw-stuffed bird scarers, high-vis vest wearing creations, a scarecrow on the toilet, a worse-for-wear pirate and well-dressed gangsters.
As well as the scarecrow trail and garden sales, the village is hosting a bank holiday fun fair with rides and stalls on the village green as well as a flower festival and art exhibition.
The event continues today., from 10am to 4pm. Search Martham Scarecrow Festival and Garage/Garden Sale on Facebook for more details.
