Charities from across Norfolk came together for a special event at the Forum.

Twenty-four Norfolk-based charities attended the third annual Charities at Home event to promote their services to local people and to provide information about ways in which they can be supported.

Charities at Home is jointly organised by Sharon Hulbert and Ronnie Zahdeh of Raise Your Profile.

Mr Zahdeh said: 'This has been the most successful Charities at Home event.

'We had so many positive comments and would like to thank all the charities and people that attended, making all the work worthwhile'.

Charities at the day included the Matthew Project, Norfolk SEN Network, Norwich Door to Door and Keeping Abreast, the latter of whom received the proceeds from the day's fundraising which was more than £500.

Mrs Hulbert said: 'The original plan was to divide the amount raised equally between the charities but they then all agreed that the charities should be entered into a draw and for one to receive the total sum to really make a difference.'

The money raised was through a tombola, a raffle for a Hudl, donated by Tesco at Stalham which was won by nine year old Tom Allison-Vije of Thetford, and from donations made to Jazzology, a group of musicians who were playing outside the Forum and who chose to support the event. This alone raised £205.92.

Both organisers thanked local businesses and individuals who contributed goods, marketing materials or their time for their support for the event.

'I would like to thank the unsung heroes that dedicate their own time for nothing, knowing the importance of such events for the future,' Mr Zahdeh said.

'Now that this year's event is over we will start planning for 2016. Norfolk based charities interested in being considered for next year's event should contact us via the website,' Mrs Hulbert added.
