An investigation has been launched after a garage was destroyed in a fire in Hellesdon on Thursday morning.
Norwich firefighters were called to a home on Links Avenue at around 3.40am to battle the blaze with hose reel jets.
Simon Mason, station manager at Norfolk Fire and Rescue Service, said: 'There was a fire in the garage at the back of the house which we had initially sent two appliances to, confronted with quite a significant fire we requested three.
'We managed to knock it down and prevent it spreading into the house.'
Crews from Sprowston, Earlham and Carrow attended after the owners, Keith Rackham, 82, and Pauline Rackham, 80, called for help.
Mrs Rackham, said: 'I got up during the night and thought there was a funny smell, I came down and the curtains were all glowing.
'I looked outside and saw the fire and I woke my husband up. The fire engine was here in under five minutes.'
No one was injured during the blaze.
