A man has praised the RNLI after being rescued when his dinghy capsized.
Wells RNLI were out on a training exercise on Saturday when a real emergency call came through from the coastguard.
The Wells inshore and all-weather lifeboats rescued Nick Schiller, whose Laser dinghy had been damaged when it overturned at the entrance to Burnham Overy Staithe.
The all-weather lifeboat arrived quickly and was able to tow the dinghy and its skipper to the shelter of Scolt Head, from where the inshore lifeboat took him to shore.
Mr Schiller, group operations director for media group and EDP publisher Archant, praised the RNLI's professionalism after they helped him ashore.
He said: 'The RNLI were great as you would expect. They were called at 10.20am and were with me by 10.34am.
'They are just really, really impressive and you can't say thank you enough.'
RNLI spokesman Peter Rainsford said: 'The entrance to Overy Staithe can be an inhospitable place when the wind is in the east and the tide starts to ebb out of the harbour.
'It is fortunate for this sailor that he was spotted quickly; he would have become rapidly cold in the water and would have had great difficulty reaching the shore without assistance.'
