Cannabis with a street value of more than £1million has been unearthed following a series of drugs raids across the eastern region.

A total of 1900 cannabis plants were seized from a property in Laundry Loke in North Walsham and 6.5kilos of herbal cannabis was uncovered at a property in Beccles Road, St Olaves.

The discoveries were made following raids in October and March during a joint police operation involving forces in Norfolk and Kent, details of which have only just emerged.

Six men have been charged with drug offences in connection with the haul and are due to appear at court this month.

Stephen Martin Creed, aged 44, from Beccles Road, St Olaves, was charged with conspiracy and possession with intent to supply and bailed to Medway Magistrates Court on April 25.

Others charged include: Michael Edward Corcoran, aged 50, from Yalding, David Graham, aged 50, from Bromley, Stephen Macey, aged 24, from Paddock Wood, Kent, Terrence David Murphy, aged 46, from Purfleet, and James Allen, aged 38, from Bexleyheath.
