A man and woman, wanted in connection with the theft of a handbag in Great Yarmouth, have come forward following a CCTV appeal.
It follows an incident in the Market Place on Friday, February 19 at about 2.45pm when a handbag, which the owner had been left behind in a café by mistake, was stolen.
The black leather handbag contained a Radley purse and cash inside, cards, reading glasses and keys.
Officers released CCTV images showing a man and woman who they wanted to trace in connection with the incident, and after seeing the appeal in the media, handed themselves into police this morning.
The man and woman, both aged in their 40s and from the local area, admitted to taking the handbag.
The matter will be dealt with by way of community resolution with both the man and woman each paying the victim £100, which the victim consented to.
The handbag has not been recovered.
Investigating officer, PC Nigel Robinson, said: 'It seems that conscious has got the better of the man and woman who have handed themselves in immediately after seeing the appeal. The matter can now be promptly resolved with the victim being compensated for her inconvenience.'
