Two dog walkers found themselves stranded on Halvergate marshes, near Great Yarmouth, last night (Friday).
Officers began searching the marshes, which cover an area of around 2,642 hectares, before being helped by the police helicopter from Wattisham.
Broadland Police tweeted to say: 'Assisted by @NPAS_Wattisham to locate 2 stranded people on Halvergate marshes this evening. Cold, dark and muddy!'
The dog walkers, who had got lost in the dark, were located 'safe and well after two hours' according to a police spokesman.
The marshes are two miles south of the A47 between Acle and Great Yarmouth.
