Fans of the GoGoDragons! will have to wait a little longer to find out what character is set to follow in the footsteps of the fire-breathing beasts.

The colourful clan of decorated dragons captivated people of all ages when the art trail was brought to Norwich by children's charity Break and Wild in Art last year.

Break has already confirmed that there will be another trail in 2018, and had originally planned to reveal this month what the next 'GoGo-stars' would be – but the big reveal is now set to take place in May.

Martin Green, Break's fundraising manager, said: 'We are really looking forward to announcing the sculpture but due to the planning process of the event we aren't able to announce it just yet. We are trying to add in new and exciting additions to the next trail. I do not want to give away too much but we are really excited to announce our plans in May.'

He added: 'Planning is going well, the maquette is being produced and our branding is taking shape. We have had lots of input and it is looking really good.'

The next trail will be in 2018 because it is a landmark anniversary for Break.

Mr Green said: 'Break is celebrating its 50th birthday in 2018 and this trail will play a pivotal role in Break's celebrations of its work to help children, young people and families over the last 50 years.' Eighty-four GoGoDragons! – each decorated by an artist and sponsored by a local organisation – featured in the charity art trail through Norwich last summer.

The colourful gang went on to raise an impressive £369,500 for Break at auction.

A second trail of about 120 baby dragons – which were created by local schoolchildren – also decorated the city last summer and have now been returned to their schools.
