More than 80 vehicles of various makes and models took part in the event, organised by the King's Lynn and District Motor Club.

But sadly one familiar face was missing from the annual rally, which is now in its 39th year.

Ivan Cunningham, who had organised every single previous rally and served as president of the club, passed away last month. He was 82.

His son, Adrian, said: 'What you see here today is my father's legacy.

'One thing he didn't want was the rally to be cancelled - he absolutely would've wanted it to go ahead because he loved classic cars.'

A wide range of cars, some dating back to the 1930s participated including an Austin, a Ford and a Fraser Nash.

There was also a 1946 Amstrong Siddeley, a 1972 Rolls Royce, several Bentleys, Austin Healeys, various Jaguars and MGs.

Mr Cunningham added: 'I find classic cars fascinating because they are so individual.

'There are these beautiful Austin Healeys standing alongside a B-reg Ford Escort. Yet they are still so individual and special.'

The rally started at Dent's Farm Shop in Hilgay, near Downham Market, and made its way cross-country to the Richmond Golf Club in Watton for lunch. It then went on to the Bressingham Steam Museum and Gardens near Diss.

A distance of around 75 miles was covered in total.
