It was a car rally with a difference – with the number plates rather than machines the main attraction.
Motorists with personalised plates from across the country have held their first rally in Norfolk.
Drivers belonging to the Registration Numbers Club motored to the North Norfolk Railway's Holt Station yesterday with their personalised vehicles.
The club, now 500-strong, was formed in 1977.
Publicity officer Rob Lomax, who drives a Mercedes Estate, registration number NEN 555, said: 'It is the first time we had held a rally in Norfolk and the day went very well, there was a good turnout and everybody seemed happy.
'We had members attending from all over the country as well as one or two locals. There were some very good numbers on display including a 1U belonging to a Yorkshire member and a T4 owned by a driver in Birmingham.'
