A colourful kaleidoscope of beautiful blooms and innovative floral displays greeted visitors exploring the flower and garden show.
Ian Roofe, from Norfolk and Norwich Horticultural Society, said he was delighted with the show and that everyone had entered great exhibits despite difficult growing conditions in recent months.
'It's been quite a difficult growing year for people. It's been warm and wet and sunny.
'It's been this tropical weather which has not been ideal but exhibitors have pulled out all the stops and put on some wonderful exhibits.'
And he said they were rewarded with a good turnout of visitors this year.
'It's been very busy. We have got a huge following of people that come back year after year and that is wonderful.
'Whether you are a gardener or not, people love to see beautiful flowers. It's been a good year.'
Among the horticultural stars was Paul Welford, of Thistlefield, based in Shouldham, near Downham Market.
His beautiful and innovative garden design Evolution looked at the development of plants and flowers through the ages and it won a hat-trick of awards – Best In Show, Garden Gold Medal and People's Choice.
Mr Welford said he was delighted with the awards and especially pleased with the great feedback from visitors to the show.
One of the many other highlights was Easton and Otley College floristry students' right royal display which featured floral Union flags and cups of tea and a giant chair where people were invited to sit and take some rather regal selfies.
There was also an amazing array of arrangements entered into the Celebrating 90 Years competition organised by Norwich Group of Flower Clubs – part of National Association of Flower Arrangement Societies – to mark the Queen's birthday. Everything from the Commonwealth to the state opening of Parliament to Balmoral inspired the designs.
Gloria Goodley, Norwich Group chairman, described all the arrangements as 'innovative and stunning' and said she was especially impressed by the cup and saucer flower displays created by children.
'They all did so well. I just think it's wonderful to inspire tomorrow's flower arrangers,' she said.
