'It was just a lovely, family-friendly day. In King's Lynn we have a really strong calendar of events. There really is something for everyone,' she said.

She added one of the most popular attractions at the event, held on Sunday, was the Fairy Godmother, who took wishes on the Tuesday Market Place and put them on her wishing tree.

The organiser said weather warnings had been issued before the weekend, but there was 'glorious sunshine throughout the day – so we lucked out there'.

Other activities included a retelling of Jack and the Beanstalk, a fairytale ball, mask-making workshops, treasure chest creating, the chance to meet a dragon and a photo booth.
