The Rotary Club of Diss & District is helping to rid the world of polio by supporting the nationwide initiative, Purple4Polio.
As part of the campaign the Rotary club has been busy planting 10,000 purple crocus corms to transform public spaces and brighten up the local community in the town in the spring when they flower.
The colour purple has been chosen as it represents the colour of the dye which is placed on the little finger of a child on mass immunisation days when millions of children in entire countries are protected against the disease.
Heather Babb, club president, said: 'I would like to thank the Heritage Triangle, Diss Youth Group, the town, district and county council and also Saffron Housing for allowing us to plant in the town and for supporting End Polio Now. We have also been ably supported by Diss Cubs and Scouts in planting.'
