Two schools in Norfolk have had to temporarily close today due to problems with water.

St Andrew's Primary Academy in Swaffham is suffering issues with its hot water system, and will reopen on Friday.

A message posted on its website states: 'No hot water system and school cannot be adequately cleaned, and food preparation cannot be undertaken.'

The school, on South Pickenham Road, has been closed since yesterday.

Meanwhile, Flitcham Primary Academy, near King's Lynn, has no water due to a burst pipe in the nearby village Dersingham.

A member of staff said the school had to close yesterday afternoon and will be closed today.

It is expected to re-open tomorrow.

A third school, St Mary's Junior Academy, on Swan Lane in Long Stratton, is open again today after suffering issues with its heating.

A message posted on its website said: 'We are pleased to be able to advise that the school will be open again on 30 November 2016. The heating system has now been repaired. We would like to thank you all for your patience while this work has been ongoing.'
